Layers in Dewetra can be visualised according to user permissions. Different users can visualise a different set of layers. This can be set according to the configuration (Admin tool) and the group permission (Django).
This section of the guide provide information on how to create a group on Django, containing a selection of layers. Guidelines on how to create and set configuration in the Admin tool are available in the dedicated page.
Note that the configuration name must be the same of the user name created in Django (under Authentication and Authorisation), for layer grouping and publication.
¶ Creating a new layer group
To create a new group and assign a specific layer to it, the following steps should be undertaken:
- Enter Django at https://stlucia.mydewetra.cimafoundation.org/admin
- Enter the "users" page under the “Authentication and authorisation” list
- Create a new user, using the “+” icon. Name of the user should be the same of the one of the configuration (Admin tool)
- Go back to main page and enter the “groups” page
- Create a group, using the “+” icon, with the same name of the user/configuration
- Go back to main page and enter the “layer group permission” page
- Select the user name and associate the new group
Then, to publish the layer:
- Go back to main page and enter the “layer” page
- Select the specific layer and include the new group in the “chosen groups” list.
Note, if the group needs to see the hydro-meteorological stations, two further steps should be undertaken:
- in the homepage, enter the “user settings” page
- link the station group number (298)
¶ Deleting a layer group
A layer group can be deleted, yet it is needed to check and remove the link with any layer:
- Enter Django at https://stlucia.mydewetra.cimafoundation.org/admin
- Enter the “layer” page, unlink the group-to-remove
- Go back to main page and enter the “users” page
- Check the box on the left-side of the user name, then from the drop-off menu select “Delete selected user”
- Group and associated permission will be also removed accordingly.
